| Clemans Hall, located conveniently in the center
of campus and next to Reeve Memorial Union, is a four story
community housing males and females on alternating
floors. Its small size helps in creating a close-knit feel where
community responsibilty and cleanliess are emphasized. Clemans'
Community Council holds a long tradition of spirit and involvement
in Homecoming, Winter Carnival, and campus organizations.
Located right in the heart of campus,
Clemans Hall offers quick access to food, entertainment, and
student activity groups. Within the hall, Clemans Hall offers
many recreation opportunities. Facilities include an exercise room, a large screen
TV, ping pong, and a pool table.
Earl E. Clemans
Completed in 1960, Clemans Hall is named for former physics instructor
and University vice-president, Earl A. Clemans. Clemans graduated
from the University of Michigan in 1901.
Earl A. Clemans was an instructor
of Agriculture and Physics at Oshkosh from 1906-1944 and was
described as, "very popular and a fine gentleman."
Clemans was a scholar who was very interested in the history
of the school and in the education it provided. He was also
a member of the Winnebago County Historical Society.
